Born in 1967 in Acqui Terme, in the province of Alessandria, Carlo Piana entered the banking world in 1992 in London, after graduating from high school and a brilliant degree in Economics from Bocconi University in Milan. In the following year, he arrived at the Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, where he acquired a solid knowledge of banking structures and services, occupying positions of increasing responsibility in the retail and business markets in central and northern Italy. In 2007 he moved to the Cariparma Crédit Agricole Group in Milan, with the task of setting up the Corporate Department, for which he became responsible. In 2010 he was appointed central manager of Group Companies and Corporate in Italy with headquarters in Parma. In 2013 he moved to Paris to the Crédit Agricole holding company (CA.sa), where he took on the role of Director of Corporate Credit Risks for the whole Group. Since 6 July 2015 he has been general manager of Crédit Agricole Carispezia, the Group bank which under his leadership has achieved brilliant results in recent years. From 1 March 2018 he assumed the position of general manager of Crédit Agricole FriulAdria.
